In the last couple of days we've had reports of a spider called Gigabot that, when it spiders a site, does so very intensively (more than is normal in our experience). One customer had 50 seperate IP addresses from Gigabot requesting a page every 20-30 seconds - a large load for a spider to put on a site.

We have updated the spiderDetect.php routine to mitigate this and pick up on the Gigabot spider to stop carts being created for it. You can download the file from the user download area listed below.

This updated file has also had several other spiders included.

We would like to encourage all our users to alert us to any new spiders they come across so they can be included in the detection scripts for JShop Server.
