JShop Server 2.0 Beta Release On Monday 6th November - JShop E-Commerce Forums

It is with pleasure, and relief, that we can announce the release date for the beta of JShop Server 2.0 as Monday 6th November 2006. On this date we will make the beta version available to all our registered users. No acesss to the beta version of 2.0 will be given to non-registered customers.

The beta process itself should last no longer than six weeks putting a final, official release timescale of around mid-December. We understand that this obviously rules out a final release in time for the busy Christmas season, for which we apologise, but it will enable our customers to start the new year with the added benefit of the many new features in version 2.0, which constitutes a major update to the product.

The Beta process itself will take the form of weekly builds addressing any issues that arise, released on the Monday of each week, and we'll issue more information on this and guidelines for reporting issues on the 6th November. We would obviously like to reiterate that updating a live store with the beta version of 2.0 is not advised and we will be unable to guarantee the quick resolution of problems in the beta version.

We would like to thank all our customers for the patience and support they have shown during the development time for 2.0, which has been much longer than we anticipated or wanted, and would also like to remind you that the final, official release will be free for all registered users as per our normal update policy.
